ELK GAMEVERSE

Политика в отношении файлов cookie

Три cookie, все необходимые, и никакого баннера.

Last updated: 12 September 2026 · Version: 3

1. The short version

This site sets three cookies, all of them necessary, and none of them tracks you.

It can also measure how the site is used — but only if you agree first, and nothing from the measurement provider is fetched until you do. If you have not been shown a consent request, it is because measurement is switched off on this deployment entirely; if you have, refusing costs you nothing and is one click, the same size as accepting.

2. What a cookie is here

A small piece of text your browser stores for a site and sends back on the next request. Some are essential to a site working at all — knowing you are signed in, for instance. Others exist to measure or to advertise, and those are the ones the law asks your permission for.

3. The cookies this site sets

| Name | What it does | Kind | Lifetime | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | elk_session | Keeps you signed in. Sealed and http-only, so page scripts cannot read it | Strictly necessary | 30 days, or until you sign out | | elk_locale | Remembers the language you chose, so a link back to the site lands in it | Strictly necessary (a preference you asked for) | 1 year | | elk_theme | Remembers light, dark or system | Strictly necessary (a preference you asked for) | 1 year |

All three are first-party, set by elkgameverse.com and sent nowhere else. None of them identifies you to anybody outside the platform.

Only after you agree

| Name | What it does | Provider | Lifetime | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | _ga, _ga_* | Tells repeat visits apart, so a count of people is not a count of page loads | Google (Tag Manager / Analytics) | up to 2 years |

These exist only once you have said yes. Until then the measurement script is never requested, so the cookies it would set are never created — there is nothing to delete if you refuse.

4. What the browser stores that is not a cookie

Some settings live in your browser's own storage rather than in a cookie — whether game sound is on, an unsent draft, a collapsed panel. That data never leaves your device and is not sent to us with a request. Clearing site data removes it.

Your answer about measurement is one of them. It is kept under elk_consent, with the date you gave it, and it is deliberately not a cookie: a cookie is sent to the server on every request, and your answer is nobody's business but this browser's. Clearing site data erases it, and you will be asked again.

Games also keep a local copy of the run in progress so a reload does not lose a campaign. It is replaced by the server's version as soon as you are online.

5. What we do not set

No advertising cookie. No social plugin. No fingerprinting. No third-party script other than the measurement one described above, and that one only after you have agreed to it — you can check this in your browser's network panel, and we would rather you did.

6. How the measurement consent actually works

Most sites load the measurement script for everybody and then tell it whether it is allowed to remember you. That is the convenient arrangement, and it is not the one here: it still fetches a file from the provider for somebody who refused, and that request is itself the thing several European regulators object to.

Here, nothing is fetched from the provider until you say yes. The page decides before it draws anything, using only your answer stored in this browser.

The honest cost of that choice, since you should not have to discover it: we learn less about the people who refuse than we would under the convenient arrangement. We decided that is the right way round.

Changing your mind: signed in, the switch is in Settings → Privacy. Either way, clearing this site's data makes the question come back.

Rewarded advertising is a separate thing again. It exists in the mobile applications, not on this site, and it asks separately through the consent form Google requires — refusing it costs you nothing but the rewards you would have been paid for watching.

7. Controlling cookies yourself

Every browser lets you see, block and delete cookies — usually under Privacy or Settings. Blocking the three above will sign you out and lose your language and theme, but the site will still work.

Your device's app store also offers advertising controls that apply across apps, including a setting to limit ad tracking. Those will matter here when advertising exists; today they change nothing on this platform.
